The Merchant House is Bahrain’s first 5-star luxury boutique hotel, located next to the vibrant Bab Al Bahrain souq in downtown Manama.
The hotel features only 46 beautifully appointed suites, each bursting with contemporary art. The collection includes works by well-established Bahraini and international artists, as well as talent from around the Gulf. The interiors are bright, colorful, and energizing, harmonizing with the spirit of Manama.
Situated at 150 Government Avenue, The Merchant House is steps away from Bab Al Bahrain, a historical mid-century building that once housed government administrative offices. Overlooking the sea, it served as a docking point for sailing merchants unloading cargo for commerce. Today, it remains a cultural landmark, restored to its former glory.
The hotel’s rooftop hosts the Indigo Terrace restaurant and bar, complete with an outdoor garden terrace.
